Summary
New York is the “city that never sleeps.” It’s because of all the lights that are always on. My project will use generative aesthetics to show different lights in the city. I want to take my audience on a journey to let them see these lights through interactive sketches, a short video of this scenery, or static posters generated with code.
Inspiration
I was inspired by city lights because the lights reminded me of the ellipses and rectangles in processing. I always admired beautiful photography of city lights. I’ve lived in the city my whole life and this one of the aesthetically pleasing parts about being here. Some examples of lights I’m referring to are blurred out lights, fast lights from cars, fireworks, window lights, neon signs, etc.
